At Rock and Roll Daycare, we believe children learn best through play, hands-on experiences, and relationships with others. The Creative Curriculum® is the foundation of our teaching and learning. Our teachers use a responsive approach, paying close attention to children’s interests, questions, ideas, and discoveries. Teachers plan experiences, observe children, and adjust their teaching to support each child’s growth and development.
Our classrooms are designed to support both independent and group learning. Through play, children have opportunities to explore, investigate, create, communicate, solve problems, and make connections. Teachers provide intentional experiences while also giving children the freedom to follow their own ideas and interests.
The Pyramid Model is an important part of how we support children’s social and emotional development. Teachers build strong relationships with children, create supportive and predictable classrooms, teach social-emotional skills, and provide additional support when needed. These practices are part of everyday classroom life, including play, routines, and interactions.
Teaching Strategies GOLD® helps teachers document and understand children’s learning and development through ongoing observation. Teachers use this information to plan meaningful experiences, track progress, and provide additional support or challenges when appropriate. Assessment is part of everyday learning and helps teachers respond to each child’s needs.
Families are an important part of our approach. We learn so much about children through our partnerships with their families and value the knowledge, experiences, cultures, and perspectives each family brings to our community. We work together to help every child grow and feel a strong sense of belonging.

Music is an important part of everyday life at Rock and Roll Daycare. Inspired by the powerful experiences children can have through music, we offer live music classes onsite every day with our Music Specialists.
Our music curriculum gives children opportunities to move, sing, dance, listen, and play instruments. Through these experiences, children build communication skills, creativity, coordination, self-expression, and social-emotional skills. Children are also introduced to a variety of musical traditions and cultures.
Music is connected to learning throughout our program. Children explore rhythm, movement, instruments, singing, and dance while developing skills across all areas of development. Our daily live music experiences bring energy, creativity, and connection to our classrooms. Music gives children another way to express themselves, connect with others, explore new ideas, and learn through joyful experiences.
Music is not separate from our curriculum. It is one of the many ways we create meaningful opportunities for children to play, connect, and learn together.
Learning about ourselves and our neighbors is more important than ever in our globalized worlds. Our cultural curriculum ensures that each child sees themselves and their families reflected in our classroom media and learns about other cultures worldwide and in our community.
Partnering with our parents, teachers and the community, we integrate books, music, toys, games, recipes, visual art, special celebrations, and live performances to give students meaningful, hands-on cultural experiences throughout their formative years.
