FAQ

What are your operating hours and attendance windows?

Our centers are open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. To accommodate your family’s routine, we offer two distinct care options:

  • Option 1: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Option 2: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Note: For the safety and comfort of your child, please plan to arrive by 5:45 PM for pick-up so you have time to speak with teachers and gather your child’s belongings.

Programs end promptly at 6:00 PM. Because our licensed educators work a long day, staying late directly impacts center operations, staff ratios, and personal scheduling. To respect our educators’ time and comply with strict state licensing operating windows, any pick-up after our 5-minute grace period (6:05 PM or 12:35 PM on early dismissal days) will incur the following fees per child:

  • Up to 15 mins late (12:35 PM / 6:05 PM): $30

  • Up to 30 mins late (12:50 PM / 6:20 PM): $60

  • Up to 45 mins late (1:05 PM / 6:35 PM): $90

Note: Late fees must be paid in cash directly to the teacher at pick-up or at drop-off the next morning. Unpaid fees will disrupt your student’s attendance standing.

Our program utilizes The Creative Curriculum, a research-backed, constructivist framework where children learn through play, sensory exploration, and social interaction. This approach is enhanced by our signature music experience, providing daily opportunities to interact with diverse musical styles and rhythms.

We utilize a robust team of professionals to maintain our high standards of early childhood education:

  • Music Director: Directs our overall musical vision, aligns our music curriculum with developmental milestones, and ensures the signature musical program is high-quality and consistent across classrooms.
  • Curriculum Director: Sets educational strategy, designs play-based lesson plans, and mentors the teaching staff.
  • Program Specialists: Work closely with classroom teachers on daily resources, administrative compliance, and hands-on instructional coaching.
  • Professional Music Specialists: Instruct daily specialized music classes and integrate patterns of the arts into core learning domains to help children use music as a learning tool.

Can I bring glass bottles for my infant?

No. For safety reasons and to protect against classroom breakage, all families must provide shatterproof, plastic bottles for infants.

How must infant bottles be labeled?

All formula, breastmilk, or medication bottles must be clearly marked with your child’s first and last name, the current date, and the contents. We provide Inchbug bottle labels with your child’s name upon enrollment.

What is your policy on breastmilk storage?

  • Refrigerated breastmilk: Must arrive labeled and will be kept in a classroom fridge for up to 48 hours.
  • Frozen breastmilk: We can hold a small backup supply in our freezer for up to 3 months.

How often are infant crib sheets and blankets washed?

We provide crib sheets and launder them daily using a hypoallergenic, baby-safe detergent. Personal blankets or sleep sacks are sent home every Friday for laundering (or immediately if soiled).

What must parents complete at infant drop-off?

Families must complete daily Drop-Off Notes detailing the time/type of last feeding, last diaper change, duration of last nap, and any notable overnight symptoms or behaviors.

Are meals and snacks provided?

Yes. We partner with Simple Fare Catering to provide nutritious, USDA-compliant meals that accommodate student allergies. Toddlers and Preschoolers receive a catered hot lunch and two daily snacks (morning and afternoon).

Are diapers and wipes included in tuition?

Yes. Rock and Roll Daycare provides all diapers and wipes. Children are actively checked and changed at least every two hours. Parents only need to supply personal, non-prescription diaper ointments.

Is there a student dress code or clothing policy?

Yes. For toddler and preschool classrooms, we embrace “freedom within limits” but strictly prohibit the following:

  • Character-wear (e.g., Disney, princesses, cartoons)
  • Clothing with sparkles
  • Light-up shoes
  • Open-toe footwear
  • Clothing items that make sound (e.g., bells)

Note: Dress code guidelines are altered during our weekly, themed “Fun Fridays” (such as Pajama Day). All students must keep indoor shoes at the center to preserve floor cleanliness.

When should I keep my child home due to illness?

Please keep your child home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:

  • Temperature of 100.4°F or higher
  • Diarrhea or vomiting two or more times in a 24-hour period
  • Severely persistent cough or green/yellow nasal drainage
  • Unidentified or contagious skin rashes
  • Redness, swelling, or discharge from the eyes

Children may return once they are completely symptom-free and fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication.

What is your medication policy?

All medications (including over-the-counter items like Tylenol or hydrocortisone) require a signed doctor’s note and a completed Medication Consent Form. Prescription medication must be in its original pharmacy container labeled with the child’s name, dosage, scheduling, and physician name. The first dose of any new medication must always be given at home first.

How are tuition payments processed?

Tuition is billed and processed automatically via ACH automatic processing through Procare on the 21st of each month for the upcoming month of care. We do not accept credit, debit, PayPal, or FSA accounts for recurring payments. Returned ACH payments incur a $20.00 fee.

What is your withdrawal policy?

A minimum 90-day advance written notice must be emailed to admissions@jamirrdc.com and carbon-copied (CC’d) to your Center Director.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

Yes. We offer a 10% discount applied to the eldest child’s tuition rate when two children are enrolled. If a third sibling enrolls full-time, a 5% discount is added to the second eldest child’s tuition rate.

Application Timelines

  • Apply well in advance. Submit your application 6 to 9 months before your desired start date.
  • Infant spots fill fastest. Expectant parents should apply during the second trimester of pregnancy.
  • Fall enrollment opens early. Apply by January or February for a late August or September start.
  • Mid-year openings are rare. Apply immediately if you need placement outside the standard school year.
  • Immediate placement. If you need immediate placement (within 1 or 2 months), submit a tour request as soon as possible. Let us know your timeline so we can work with you if space opens up.
  • Spots are first-come, first-served. Multiple families often look at the same spot simultaneously.
  • September is the best time. Our highest number of open spots occurs in September due to older children graduating.  As older kids leave for kindergarten, children roll up into the next classrooms. Classroom progression frees up limited space in infant and toddler rooms.

Securing Your Spot

  • Secure it early. You can guarantee your child’s placement as early as you like if availability allows.
  • Based on projected openings. We secure the spot immediately if a vacancy is projected for your date.  If an immediate spot is unavailable, we will inform you right away.
  • Paid Waitlist ($250 fee). Paying this non-refundable fee places your child in our priority queue before a spot opens.
  • Public availability comes second. We offer open spots to our paid waitlist families before the general public.
  • Priority goes to siblings. Currently enrolled families skip to the top of the waitlist.
  • We offer spots in order. When a vacancy opens, we contact families based on their application date.
  • You have a response window. You must accept the spot and pay the deposit within 48 hours of notification.

Waitlist vs. Fully Secured

  • Fully Secured means guaranteed. This status confirms your child’s specific start date and holds their physical spot.
  • Requires all initial invoices paid. You must pay the deposit, registration fee, and first month’s tuition.
  • Waitlist rolls into fully secured. Once a spot opens, you must pay those initial invoices to secure it.
